API Pond Salt

Crafted from evaporated seawater and designed to supply essential electrolytes vital for the health and survival of pond fish; API Pond Salt is an all-natural salt to enhance gill function, shield fish from nitrite toxicity, and help reduce stress by maintaining a healthy balance of electrolytes in the body fluids of pond fish. It is safe to use alongside all API pond water conditioners, filtration systems, fish treatments, and fish foods.

Additionally, Pond Salt is effective in mitigating nitrite toxicity in koi and goldfish. Nitrite (NO2-) can enter the gills and inhibit the blood's ability to transport oxygen, leading to a condition known as methemoglobinemia. Pond Salt temporarily counteracts the harmful effects of nitrite, providing relief while water quality is being improved.

Unlike table salt, API POND SALT contains no artificial additives, sugars, or dyes. It is derived solely from evaporated seawater and includes essential electrolytes such as calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and sodium chloride, all of which are beneficial for freshwater fish.

Application: Ponds with plants add one and a quarter (1.25) cups of pond salt for every 100 gallons of water. Ponds without plants add two and a half (2.5) cups of pond salt for every 100 gallons of water.
