1.25" Coarse Black Filter Material is used in aquatic filtration systems to trap and prevent debris from re-entering the ecosystem. The coarse material allows water to easily pass through while trapping larger particles and matter. Black filter mats easily blend in around water gardens and natural settings allowing for easy camouflaging.  As a mechanical filter, coarse black mats trap and physically prevent debris from re-entering the water garden. As a biological filter, coarse black mats have high surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize and filter the water as it passes through the mat. Coarse black filter mat material is flexible and can easily be cut to size for use in almost any aquatic application where mechanical or biological filtration is needed such as ponds, aquariums, and aquaculture.
