Coarse pond filter media mats are used in aquatic filtration systems to trap and prevent large debris, excess fish food, and more from re-entering the ecosystem. The coarse material allows water to easily pass through while trapping particles and matter. Green filter mats are easy to identify amongst other filter mat varieties and colors; it's even easy to camouflage around the pond.  As a mechanical filter, coarse green mats trap and physically prevent debris from re-entering the water garden. As a biological filter, coarse green mats have high surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize and filter the water as it passes through the mat. This mat material is flexible and can easily be cut to size for use in almost any aquatic application where mechanical or biological filtration is needed such as ponds, aquariums, and aquaculture.
