Pond filter media mats are used in skimmers and filtration systems to trap and prevent debris from re-entering the pond. The coarse material allows water to easily pass through while trapping larger particles and matter. White filter mats contrast against the debris and waste material being trapped allowing for easily identifying when the material needs cleared off, cleaned, or replaced. As a mechanical filter, coarse white mats trap and physically prevent debris from re-entering the water garden. As a biological filter, coarse white mats have high surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize and filter the water as it passes through the mat. Coarse white filter mat material is flexible and can easily be cut to size for use in almost any aquatic application where mechanical or biological filtration is needed such as ponds, aquariums, and aquaculture.
