Dense filter media captures fine debris and other uncaptured micro-contaminants for clean and clear pond water.  Pond filter media mats are used in aquatic filtration systems to trap and prevent debris from re-entering the ecosystem. The dense fine material allows water to easily pass through while trapping small particles and matter. Lime green filter mats are easy to identify amongst other filter mat varieties and colors.  As a mechanical filter, dense lime mats trap and physically prevent debris from re-entering the water garden. As a biological filter, dense lime mats have high surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize and filter the water as it passes through the mat. Dense lime filter mat material is flexible and can easily be cut to size for use in almost any aquatic application where mechanical or biological filtration is needed such as ponds, aquariums, and aquaculture.
