Description
Sludge and Muck B-Gone
Pond Basics Sludge & Muck B-Gone is formulated with naturally occurring bacteria and enzyme boosters that help support the biological breakdown of excess organic matter in ponds. By encouraging beneficial bacterial and enzymatic activity, this additive helps reduce built-up sludge, eliminate unpleasant odors, and clear cloudy water caused by decomposing leaves, grass clippings, fish waste, and other organic debris.
Over time, organic material naturally settles to the bottom of ponds, forming a soft layer of muck that reduces water depth, contributes to poor water clarity, and creates conditions that encourage foul odors and algae blooms. Pond Basics Sludge & Muck B-Gone helps target this buildup by introducing beneficial bacteria that work within the pond ecosystem to digest organic waste more effectively. Regular use helps improve overall water quality, supporting a more balanced pond environment; reduce the need for frequent manual cleanouts.
Sludge & Muck B-Gone is a practical choice for targeting and reducing bottom sludge in ponds. This non-toxic, non-pathogenic bacterial blend is safe for fish, aquatic plants, pets, and wildlife when used as directed. It can be used as part of a routine pond maintenance program to help keep the pond bottom cleaner and the water more enjoyable to view. For best results, apply according to label directions and maintain aeration whenever possible as beneficial bacteria perform best in oxygen-rich water.
Application & Use
For regular 16oz & 32oz varieties: Use monthly from May through September. Add 1 ounce per 250 gallons of pond water. Dilute in 1 gallon of pond water and disperse around the pond. Do not turn off circulation, waterfalls, or aeration systems.
For concentrated varieties: Use monthly from May through September. Add 1 ounce per 2,000 gallons of pond water. Dilute in 1 gallon of pond water, mix, and disperse around the pond.
For best results: Maintain proper aeration and use with Pond Basics Pond Starter Dry Bacteria.
Caution: Overdosing Sludge & Muck-B Gone can reduce dissolved oxygen in the pond which can be deadly to pond fish. Using an aeration system in conjunction with your circulation/waterfall greatly reduces the risk of fish loss if an accidental overdose occurs. Non-toxic & non-pathogenic product, will not harm aquatic life when used properly.
