Description
Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum)
Hornwort is sold in bundles, held together by a weight. Each bundle has about 4-6 strands, depending on the size of individual strand.
Size: Stems can grow up to 24 “ long
Hardiness zone: 4-11
Fertilization: Absorbed from your pond water!
Habit: Submerged, non-rooting underwater plant with leaves packed tight in whorls that form plumes at the end.
Cultivation: Submerged, non-rooting plant placed 6-10” below pond water’s surface. It needs to get some sunlight to work properly, as they help to prevent “pea-soup” green water.
**For Submerged Pond Plants (like hornwort, ludwigia or sagtitaria) we recommend having one bundle/plant per 2 square foot of surface area.
